To make anything on Cinema 4D you need a picture to reference back to, so I looked downloaded a side view picture of a wine glass off Goggle images. On Cinema 4D I toggled on the right hand side view, I went Edit> Configure which brought up a new panel on the right hand side of the screen. When i clicked on Back a tab came up with the word Image, when i clicked

September 23, 2009Floating city
April 3, 2009I first started of with looking at Morden developed cities around the world. I then looked at styles of building. I really like the look of art deco so I decided to do my whole city in the style of art deco. I didn’t want my base of my city just to be a circle so I looked at natural forms and I came up with the idea of a life shaped city this would give my city a morden theme as well as art deco I changed the shape of it a little and then I came up with the idea of the back of the leaf being a port for boat to come in and out of my city.
For my buildings like look at much art deco style building and I got my own idea from that. I wanted my city to be a real city not just a place to go on holiday so I added all many places for people to live no matter their income there are 6 main public buildings some are over looking the sea so the those ones would be more expensive because they have a excellent view.
The main problem that I had was placing my buildings, I wanted my there to be some thought to were my buildings were not just put in random places so I decided to place my buildings by the type of skyline I wanted my skyine to go up then come down.
I made most of my buildings from blue foam it was very easy cutting them out my building shapes using the hot wire and sand paper.

March 13, 2009Evaluation of flat pack side table Baby Ele
March 10, 2009In this project my brief was to design and make a flat pack side table influenced by an African animal of my choice. I chose the African elephant because I liked the look of it and it is a well know animal. I started off with looking at all types of side table’s flat pack and non-flat pack. I then came up with the decision that that I wanted my side table to look good next to a sofa. I then started look at the elephant and I liked the look of the face and the back feet, I thought they would look good as table legs. Even though my table was supposed to resemble an African animal I didn’t want it to look African I wanted it to look modern to I came to the decision that the legs would look like an African animal and to top would look modern. My teacher said to me that my table didn’t have to look like the animal it was influenced by, however I want people to look at my table and automatically see that it looked like an elephant.
I developed my initial ideas using card to make small models to a scale of 1:5. That’s when I saw that I would have to cut small section of the top of the table legs to make sure that the top of the table would be stable. I also saw that to make sure that my entire table was stable I would have to sand my bottom of my table flat. So after devolving my table
I made my table out of MDF, which was a very easy wood to work with. The only really problem that I came to was cutting the X on my table to my tabletop, mainly because I have never done any thing like it before. However after my teacher showed me how its was done was I done ok with but I did mess up on one of my corners which I never realised I did until I had finished the whole thing. If I had another chance to do this I would make sure
The most important thing when work in the workshop is health and safety for my peers and myself. I always used goggles when using machines and made sure that no one else was in front of the yellow tape. I also made sure that I was standing up when using tools or machines. Also when using tools I made sure that there was nothing on the table apart from my work and the tool that I need on the table.
